Temario

  • This programme is based in Dumfries, south-west Scotland, it is offered as a result of an unique partnership between the University of Glasgow and the Crichton Carbon Centre.
  • The Dumfries Campus is ideally situated to make an important contribution to the international agenda for tackling climate change: it is close to natural carbon sinks, relevant non-government organisations and renewable energy companies.
  • There are a number of scholarships and work placement opportunities available.
  • You will have excellent employment prospects in a variety of highly interesting and rewarding roles, as well as opportunities to progress to doctoral study.
Programme overview
  • MSc: 12 months full-time; 24 months part-time.
Teaching is through a combination of lectures, seminars, projects, study trips and fieldwork. At as a graduate of the programme you will
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of the conceptual and methodological bases for conducting high-quality investigations in the context of carbon management
  • be able to analyse the ethical considerations relevant to carbon management in an occupational or professional context
  • be able to apply the tools employed for tackling greenhouse gas emissions
  • be able to evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies employed to tackle greenhouse gas emissions
  • have the knowledge and technical ability to assess and advise on carbon management.
