Overview
The Professional Writing programme is devoted to empowering those with creative talent in a range of disciplines to sell their ideas, become more competitive in applying for jobs and access a range of other qualifications. The course has proven popular with those seeking the most affordable route to a degree (after two years at foundation degree fee students can progress automatically into the third year of a BA Hons in Creative Writing).
Former students have found work in areas like marketing, advertising, exhibition design and event management, and some have gone on to become best-selling authors. Many have gone on to MA and PhD studies.

A pass is awarded for the achievement of all outcomes against the specified assessment criteria Merit and distinction grades are awarded for higher-level achievement. Careers Successful students are guaranteed entry to year three of BA Hons Creative Writing at the University of Greenwich. It is also possible to negotiate direct entry onto BA Hons Media and Communications at the same university. A number of former students are now published authors and the work of one former student has been studied on the present course for the last five years. Some career paths have been very unique, including that of Gavin Griffiths, the UK's only full-time professional Diathlete.
